✦ About Holly ✦
My name is Holly Million, and I am a professional shaman, artist, herbal medicine-maker, and micro-homesteader. I work with people who are freeing themselves and bringing their gifts forward for the healing of our world. I had no idea I would be doing shamanic work. And I am so grateful I am.
From the time I was a small child, I wanted to know, “What is all of this? Why am I here? How does this all work?” Fueled by my insatiable curiosity, I set out on a journey of learning and exploring that took me to remarkable places and through much shapeshifting.
I graduated from Harvard with a degree in English, then went on to Stanford, where I earned a graduate degree in education. I became a professional fundraiser, who helped scores of nonprofit organizations raise millions of dollars for many causes, and also a successful film director, producer, and fundraising consultant.
These careers proved to me that my Earth-based powers are tremendous. I can take any idea and make it real.
But there was more to me, much more that needed to emerge. I have always been highly intuitive, mystical, and psychic, from the time I was a little girl. I also have been very artistically gifted, from the time I was little as well. I now realize I am what you could call a “superintuitive.”

When I turned 50, I could no longer suppress this highly psychic, intuitive, mystical side of me, and it blossomed. I recognized my giftedness and said to myself, “I must be a shaman.” It was the only word I knew that captured what I was accepting in myself. I was called to be a shaman, and so I set out to find my teachers and my way.
I worked with amazing shamanic teachers. They were men and women. They were people from Central Louisiana, Maine, California, and Germany. They were people who had trained with others who ranged from traditional healers or “traiteurs” from Central Louisiana, to a Lakota Sioux shaman, to a Thai Taoist shamanic master, to European shamanic practitioners, and others.
When I was working with my main teacher, we cleared a home together for the first time and moved on a soul that was attached to the location. When the work was done, my teacher said to me, “You are a shamanic adept. Now they are going to start coming to you.” I was floored. I accepted this feedback and continued with my work. Yes, they did come to me.

I am here to help those who are finding their way. I am here to help the mystical ones, the intuitives, the empaths, the sensitives, the artists, and all others ready to embrace their power. I do this because for most of my life, I was in a dark place. I had very low self-esteem and deep confusion about myself. I suffered so much trauma early on and frequently felt anxious, depressed, and sometimes suicidal.
Through force of will, the soul’s unquenchable desire to heal, and the help of many healing modalities — psychotherapy, craniosacral therapy, shamanic healing, and more — I came out of that darkness. My personal transformation has been profound. I now embrace my life with love, gratitude, and appreciation for all I have been through. It is because of what I had to overcome, oftentimes alone, that I now choose to use everything I have experienced and learned to help others on their soul-development journey.
In my shamanic work, I meet you wherever you are at. I embrace the totality of who you are and begin with an understanding that you are fundamentally good, sound, and whole.
I help clients overcome blockages, difficult emotional energies, recurring nightmares, chronic pain, and self-doubt. I provide a safe, healing container to work within. You can count on me to be a grounded, calm, loving presence, reflecting to you all that you are with love and support. My process is shamanic and not psychotherapy.
The shaman is one who has become a whole person by doing the deep work. After many tests, the shaman can hold the tension of opposites – masculine and feminine, spiritual and material, logical and intuitive, dark and light. All of my experience as an Earth-based manifester gives me the strength to hold the spiritual energies in this dimension. A shaman serves as a bridge, a mediator in the healing process that you are undergoing. I use a modern shamanic approach that flows from my own personal experience blended with techniques learned from the worldwide shamanic tradition.

My work activates all dimensions in you – physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. I serve as your guide, sacred mirror, and creator of sacred space to help you release what no longer serves and make room for things that align with your joy, success, and higher purpose. For the past decade, I have worked with clients all over the country. If you, too, are seeking this type of support, I am here to help you.
I am also an herbal medicine-maker and have been converting my property in Oakland, CA into a working micro-homestead and herbal farm — Holly Wholly Farm and Sanctuary — growing healing herbs. I hold a certificate in herbal medicine-making from the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine. Plants are one of my major allies.
I am the founder of Shamanic Arts Institute (SAI), which provides classes, workshops, and a shamanic apprentice program leading to a certificate. I have had apprentices from 16 to 83 years old come through the program since its inception. One of the things I am most passionate about is helping people liberate themselves so they can bring their precious gifts forward for the healing of our world. Through SAI, I am activating a new cadre of shamanic practitioners when our world needs them more than ever.
I am a heartfelt teacher, imparter of knowledge, and fearless public speaker who is here — through my words and my presence — to embolden others to claim their power and use it for good in our world.
Thank you for reading my story, and I hope we will work together!
